“Choose Love” Won Best Song

I am excited to announce that my latest single “Choose Love” has won its first award! “Choose Love” won Best Song in the Gospel/R&B category of the Akademia Music Awards. It feels good to have all the “heart work” that went into creating this song be recognized in this way. My hope is that this is just the beginning and that more great things continue to unfold to help bring this song and its message to the world!

If you haven’t heard it yet, you can listen, download and read the full story by clicking below:

If you are inspired by “Choose Love” and its message, I would gladly welcome your support in any or all of the following ways:

1. Purchase the track via Bandcamp or iTunes.

2. Share the song with your networks! Easiest thing to do is share the Bandcamp page. (People can hear the full song there vs. just a clip on iTunes.)

3. Rate and write a review on iTunes.

4. If you have connections with anyone that could help get more exposure for the song such as radio hosts, podcasts, bloggers, etc. I would love to hear from you and appreciate any introductions!

What else is going on with me?

Last month, I was asked to create some music for my friends at SkyFireArts who performed lightning dance with a Tesla coil at Electric Daisy Carnival (EDC) in Las Vegas. Happy to contribute, I assembled a small team consisting of myself, Glenn Weikert and Joris Vincken and together we created the soundtrack for their spectacular performance. They got some great write-ups including one in LA Weekly that specifically highlighted how the soundtrack aligned with the choreography of the routine!

The spring and summer months have me booked playing lots of charity galas and weddings. I continue to teach private piano lessons to a handful of dedicated students. I also keep myself busy with three different Toastmasters clubs that I’m a member of. My involvement in Toastmasters has propelled me into a new line of work teaching kids vital public speaking and communication skills through a program with Captivating Kids. Between all of that, I enjoy family time with Kim and Melody, who is growing up fast and is beginning to talk up a storm at 19 months!

Summarizing all of this reminds me that I haven’t been posting blogs as regularly as I used to. It has been challenging to keep up with everything to the level that I would like to since Melody was born. I will strive to be more consistent going forward, but if you would like to know more about what I am up to, I invite you to follow my various social media accounts. The primary ones I use are Facebook, Instagram and Twitter.
