For over a decade, I have developed a forte for performing at charity galas where the aim is to entertain, tug at heartstrings, and ultimately raise money for great causes. For an event of this type, I prepare in advance by reviewing the show flow and script to determine the perfect pieces of music to play for speakers and honorees as they enter and exit the stage as well as transitions and other key moments during the show. During the show, I often never leave the piano to ensure the flow of the program remains uninterrupted. My years of experience in this arena have given me a great ability to follow cues, adjust on the fly and improvise. In addition to playing solo piano as needed throughout the event, I can also accompany featured vocalists performing for the event (as shown in the video below) or assemble an ensemble of musicians.
